>> what is the bhl you may ask? the bikini hockey league. >> yeah! >> all right. for our life flashing before our eyes moment of the day, let's go to the pyrenees where this guy is back country skiing. this is oriol estefanell and he is heading down there, got his go pro on. heading down, had heading down. looking good. and then i think you might be able to guess what happens next. avalanche. you can see his legs are buried but oriol is able to ride this thing out. ♪ >> oh, wow. >> yeah. >> like crumbling. >> it's like water. the snow just moving and taking him down the hill. but look, he recovers. >> hs he i ridin it? >>ho right, doesn't get buried. it's not necessarily the biggest

of avalanches. it's just kind of in the area he was in. for a moment there it was still enough snow if he got knocked over he could have totally been buried. >> oh, yeah. >> you can see the fear in his face, when that thing started you could even hear it. you don't know in that moment how big or how small this avalanche is. >> was that fear or this guy saying to himself, getting this all on cam. going to look so cool. >> impressive he doesn't ditch that thing. i would try do whatever i can to stay upright. he keeps filming the whole time. >> he's a pro. no time to waste in this apartment fire in louisiana. you see heavy smoke and flames blowing out the front door of this multiun it in complex. the first to arrive the fire chief. the fire chief is in his command vehicle. he's got nothing with him. must be tough for him to just sit there. >> he doesn't sit there. >> immediately and quickly behind him comes one pumper

truck with one firefighter. this is a volunteer fire department in a small community. so you see the chief with his white button down on run over in the pumper truck, pull a line off the bumper, the firefighter charges the line and the chief starts fighting the fire itself. >> you have to get moving on this. it's in one unit now but it could spread to the building. >> he's just in his black pants and white button down. >> stays back at a distance, fights the fire from the parking lot and able to knock down a lot of the fire you see blowing out the front door. >> that's amazing these guys -- two guys -- >> you may notice at the beginning of the video, the guy that's in the car that we're seeing the video being taken from, you see him get out of the truck and go over to the pumper to lend assistance. >> how cool of him too that he just gets out in his jeans and t-shirt, heads over and starts working with the guys at the fire truck. that's pretty impressive.

i have two crazy videos from tennessee. the first one is from memphis. this is right outside a popular restaurant called uncle lou's. pay close attention to the red car right in the middle of the screen. you see a woman walking up, getting into the passenger side. and then you see a man without a shirt, he walks up to the car and according to reports, he says to the driver of the car, hey, 38 wants to talk to you. there's a bit more of an exchange. you see another man walk up. that man was later identified as 38, but as he's walking up, the driver quickly backs out. he takes down that person that walks up to the car. and then look at 38. he takes out a gun and starts shooting at that red car. >> what? >> in broad daylight? >> there's cars going by right in the direction of him shooting. >> that car ended up crashing into a post right outside of the frame of the camera. the woman did end up being shot in the leg but is expected to be okay. they did end up arresting both of those men after witnesses were able it to identify the

this is one of the men, dante and da von who is supposed to be 38. this other video is just amazing, this is in lebanon, tennessee. surveillance video from inside a jewelry store. look very closely at the woman behind the counter. >> that just missed her. >> an suv smashed through the windows of that jewelry store, missing the employee veronica by inches. you can see as soon as the suv passes them th he both run in the other direction. >> it almost looks like an explosion. >> the owner of the jewelry store was in that back office where this suv landed, but he left a few minutes earlier to take his newly rescued dog home. >> he started barking so i took him home. i walked out of my office, two minutes. maybe two minutes. before. >> he rescued that dog's life and then that dog rescued his life. >> that's correct. the driver was an elderly man and they believe it was a medical condition that caused the crash.

this adorable little girl you're seeing here is 8-year-old ruby shastain. ruby lives in oklahoma city now, but she and her sister were adopted from an orphanage in ethiopia. in this video we are seeing the moment that ruby is hearing her mom's words for the first time. ruby was just fitted with a cochlear implant. >> can you hear mama? can you hear me? can you? >> how the mom says, can you hear me? can you really hear me? >> she's like yeah. >> i love you, sweetie. oh, my goodness gracious. >> her eyes were full of tears. >> she's looking around to figure out where it comes from. >> the other girl is ruby's sister. she, too, was fitted with a cochlear implant. we're seeing them understand the idea of sound for the first
